Founded in the same year when Beta Sigma-Upsilon Sigma opened its hands to highschool students as part of the fraternal relationships. Basiliskos Society is not a fraternity nor a sorority. However, it is a training ground for highschool students to become future's useful fraternity men. The alumni and seniors of Beta Sigma-Upsilon Sigma decided to open this concortium for they believe in the potentials and strengths of teenagers. With thier struggle, they were able to pioneer a chapter i Misamis Oriental General Comprehensive High School (Alpha Chapter) with more than 20 members and were mostly C.A.T. officers and Boy Scout members. The term Basilisk pertains to a legendary dragon with a rooster's head, so dangerous that even a single look, its enemy dies. According to legend, there are two species of the creature. The first kind burns everything it approaches, and the second kind can kill every living thing with a mere glance. Both species are so dreadful that their breath wilts vegetation and shatters stones. It was even believed that if a man on horseback should try to kill it with a spear, the power of the poison conducted through the weapon would not only kill the rider, but the horse as well. The only way to kill a basilisk is by holding a mirror in front of its eyes, while avoiding to look directly at it. The moment the creature sees its own reflection, it will die of fright.
This terms are the implications on the Basiliskans. They Have a gentle in manner but firm in action. They don't want war but they welcome it.
The Basilisk as provided in the Constitution and By-laws of Beta Sigma-Upsilon Sigma, are not fraternity members. They are just a simple kind of society members. However, they are considered as the junior members of Beta Sigma-Upsilon Sigma and therefore a half-pledged neophyte.
The essence of the Basiliskans is marked by the conditions that the senior Betaupsians enjoy at the present. Most active members today in the organization were former Basilisks. They even have the potentials to uphold a new generation of Beta Sigma-Upsilon Sigma.
